Mid 2025 Update

Hey all, It's been a really long hiatus from me. I'm happy to report that I'm still gaming whenever I'm not working. New games that I may or may not review one day since my last update: Genshin Impact - TL;DR, I caved and played this after much struggle.  Wuthering Waves - i.e. not 'Withering', despite auto-correct's attempt. Honkai: Star Rail - technically not new-new , but am still playing and also no Rie-viewed this yet. Twisted Wonderland - same story as HSR. Well, how I got into this game is slightly different from HSR... On the other hand, some sad news: On 20 March 2025, ShiWuYu or Tale of Food officially shut its Singapore-Malaysia server since its launch in 27 May 2020. While it's tragic news for most fans who had close bonds with their favourite in-game characters, some fans were fortunate enough to jump onto the Companion version of the game. This version isn't as event-filled as what most fans would be used to, and fans will still nee...

Time Princess - The Sacred Beast Walkthrough

Image
I decided to post the walkthrough for The Sacred Beast, now that I'm about to embark on a new story (and also a game that I could finally download and play, but that's a post for another day) that has three chapters as opposed to the usual two chapters. Excited, but also nervous!  The Sacred Beast was whimsical, bringing back memories of Magic Lamp with a similar yet different setting. I wonder what would happen if the cast from both books meet each other. That's a fun thought, isn't it? But! Back to the purpose of this post, here's the walkthrough for The Sacred Beast. Enjoy! The Sacred Beast: 2 Chapters - Chapter 1 has 16 stages, Chapter 2 has 18 stages

Second update after unexpected hiatus

Image
If you're seeing this, you must've come across my other update on Time Princess's Cleopatra walkthrough ( link ). So before I turn in for the night and get ready for the week, perhaps I should update what I've been up to since my last post (okay, last last post). I got caught up in a series of unfortunate weather events earlier this year, approximately a month and a half after my New Year post. The series of weather events successfully cut off power supply, threw all timelines and deadlines out the window, which meant mayhem for project management.  So the ensuing months became a game of playing catch-up on lost time + the actual scheduled work.  Which was... bearable. I'm not overworked or anything, since I clearly still had time to game over weekends. Well, most weekends.  For readers who've noticed by now, yes I actually play Time Princess stories according to their release date. So if you're wondering, 'wait RieRie's only finished Cleopatra? How...

Time Princess - Cleopatra Walkthrough

Image
Aaaand finally back with an update! Phew, thanks for waiting! Cleopatra is similar to Queen Marie, where the characters are based on real life historic figures. And just like Queen Marie there may be some inaccuracies - as long as it serves for a good purpose, story-wise! Without further ado, here's the walkthrough, enjoy! Cleopatra: 2 Chapters - Chapter 1 has 15 stages, Chapter 2 has 15 stages

Time Princess - Whisper of the Rain Walkthrough

Image
Things got a bit busy in real life, with work rolling full steam ahead, heck tons of reading to catch up on... I found this story a bit slow-paced in the beginning, but as the story progress so did my interest so that was great! Definitely a different vibe after coming right out of Have You Seen Claudia?, which meant that I had (unintentionally) took my time going through this story. So without further ado, enjoy the walkthrough! Whisper of the Rain: 2 Chapters - Chapter 1 has 14 stages, Chapter 2 has 16 stages

Time Princess - Have you seen Claudia? Walkthrough

Image
Finally finished this story. Honestly, while I'm fond of mystery novels like Sherlock Holmes, Have you seen Claudia? veers off from just a typical mystery where you take on the main protagonist role of searching for Claudia. Yes, like all mystery plots there's also other layers that need to be unveiled. But well, getting to the root of the mystery wasn't easy for me this round. If I could compare, it's the same feeling I had while playing Vittorio's route in Gotham Memoirs (also by Time Princess).  One thing similar to Gotham Memoirs is the trigger warnings right before you buy/start the story. If you're not okay with the triggers, I suggest you skip it. Or at least, tap quickly through the plot for the sake of the outfits. One last thing before we delve into the walkthrough, I want to give a shout out to AquaTofana87  for their very helpful comment on the Time Princess Wikia. With that said, hopefully this walkthrough will be of help to you too.  Have you seen ...

Happy New Year! 2023

HAPPY NEW YEAR! First day of the first month of the year 2023. Man, how fast time flies!  Hilariously, even though I'm on an impromptu holiday break, it didn't feel like a holiday. Initially, I was set on working through the holidays (excluding the public holidays, of course), until I was told that I needed to apply for days off because the office is closed. So yes, with no actual plans made in time, I ended up spending most days at home. When the weather is good, I did explore wherever I could on foot. But good weather meant blazing hot days, the sun intending to sear my skin brown with such intensity that  made walking all the more unbearable.  Anyway! In a few more days I would be starting work again. Speaking of the new year, any new year's resolution? I myself personally hadn't set any, but if I were to set any, updating this blog whenever I could is definitely one of my goals. Along with my poor writing project. As for my VN project... As I've given away my dr...

Time Princess - Dancing on Ice Walkthrough

Image
For Time Princess, I decided to play the stories according to their release date. Dancing on Ice naturally became on my next story after finishing up White Snake, and so here's the walkthrough! A little forewarning, it gets a little complex in Chapter 2 with the options, so it did take me a while to figure out how to get that other ending even with the hints. But not to worry! I've specifically noted the right stage to go to. Ready to start? Read on! Dancing on Ice: 2 Chapters - Chapter 1 has 15 stages, Chapter 2 has 19 stages

Time Princess - White Snake Walkthrough

Image
The story of White Snake is one that I'm familiar with, albeit the film version 'The Sorcerer and the White Snake" starring Jet Li, Eva Huang, Raymond Lam, Charlene Choi, Wen Zhang as the key cast. Well, there are some similarities, but the Time Princess version has that plot twist that is definitely not in the film. Well, that's the only comment I'll give for now. (And I've just realised I had not done a RIEview on Time Princess, hmm...) White Snake: 2 Chapters - Chapter 1 has 19 stages, Chapter 2 has 15 stages (Note: I had overlooked recording when event logs are unlocked, meaning some are missing from this walkthrough. If you do have any missing event logs that you need help with, post them in the comments below and I'll take a look through my records to see if I can guide you which chapter stage the log should be in. Alternatively, there is the Time Princess Wikia page that should help, or the community would definitely love to help out fellow player...

December 2022 Update

Hey all! Hope everyone's been well since my last update and post in March.  Some things that happened to me since then: I started at a new job in October, and because that was overseas, that meant packing and moving was how I spent most of September. To work overseas meant getting the visas sorted before job hunting (of course there might be exceptions, but for me I had to have a valid work visa prior to applying for jobs), which was how I spent July-August.  What about April to June? April and May were pretty much on schedule with the projects (Visual Novel and Novel Writing), albeit in a glacial pace. June was the month I had to sort out passport (which expired during lockdown) and visa stuff, which was a lot of waiting given the sudden surge of applications once people started making travel arrangements.  I mean, fair, since who wants to renew their passport or have a valid work visa but can't go anywhere? Right? So yes, that was how things went. In November I particip...

StoryMe - My Next Life as a Villainess: All routes lead to Doom! ~ Walkthrough

Image
Hey all! Today's post will focus on the walkthrough for one of StoryMe's titles, which shares the same name as the anime it's based on. StoryMe is a similar story app like Choices, which I will give a proper review in another post.  My Next Life as a Villainess: All routes lead to Doom! have a total of 12 episodes. Depending on which character you have the highest affinity with, you will unlock one of the remaining 7 episodes for that character. Each unlocked ending comes with a trophy achievement, seen under the story title in the list of episodes.  The 2 main currencies in StoryMe are keys and diamonds. Keys are used to read an episode, even if you are re-reading the same episode in your subsequent run to unlock a new ending. As for diamonds, you can use them to select diamond choices, with each choice costing 20 diamonds. These choices will be in blue in the walkthrough below. If you had selected a diamond choice in a previous run, the diamond choice will now be free in ...

2022: What's on?

Hey all! How's everyone going through 2022 so far?  I know things have been rough these past 2 years, but honestly I am on the side that we'll be seeing things turning around – for good! So hang in there, don't lose hope!  From my last post on 9th May 2021 till now, there were a few things that happened that I thought would be interesting to share here.  The first is, I'm working on a visual novel project! It's always been a dream of mine to create a visual novel game, even if it isn't as professional as Voltage Inc or the others out there. So far, the draft of the script is done, just need proof-reading and edits. Since it's a one-person team, I've yet to get started on the art/CG yet because of the second thing that happened, which is –  – A writing project! To be exact, writing a novel based on one of my old drafts that I had lying around. Post-VN script I had been spending time listening to podcasts and reading articles on how to improve writing skil...

Important Announcement!

Hi all! With the posting of the final review on Gourmet Story, this project that started from January 2020 has finally come to an end. Yes, there are mixed feelings, but overall I'm pretty content with how far I've come. I can now cross-off 'Blogging' from my bucket list after nearly 10 years of procrastination and simply being occupied with other real life matters.  The fate of this blog will still exist, until the time when I decide to publish another game review. There are too many games on my hands that I don't know if I should download anymore!  -insert nervous laughter here-  Currently in real life there's a bunch of things I need to settle (eek!) before tackling my next project, which is editing my old stories! Yes before blogging I used to enjoy writing, but then life happened and I just... stopped. I actually planned to write a new series but it's an uphill struggle to get back into my writer self. Hopefully through editing my old works I can redisc...

大繁盛!饱腹市场:Gourmet Story ~ RIEview + Mini Guide

Image
With the wide selection of fast-paced games in my collection, I wanted to expand my casual game collection. Gourmet Story is an idle casual game revolving the most important need of man – Food. But not just any kind of food, if you could understand Chinese, that is. The game is actually developed by Japanese company Flyhigh Works and ASOBOX, but has been translated to English for Nintendo Switch.  I personally got the Chinese version on the App Store for free, so I’m not sure if this is the same for all regions (except Japan, of course). Because there is an English version, I will not be translating the stories as I initially planned to do. This post contains a review and a mini guide, similar to the previous post on Love ToDo. Read on to see how this game fares! Game Plot  You play as the protagonist, a Royal Food Advisor tasked to restore the once bustling World Tree Marche to its former glory – a once popular food truck hub boasting of many delicious cuisines. Armed ...

Love ToDo 恋爱番茄 ~ RIEview + Mini Guide

Image
Love ToDo 恋爱番茄 (LianAiFanQie; i.e. Love Tomato) isn’t a game per say, but rather a time-management app! It’s made by Taiwanese developer Minus40 and subsequently launched in September 2020, that incorporated romance elements to draw people using the app, and me being a sucker for pretty art, I downloaded it. As the game is developed in traditional Chinese script, I will only provide a guide in the Game Mechanics section on how to go about using the app.  At first I’ve also considered translating the plot, but as the translation would basically give everything away and inevitably cause players to skip using the app, I decided to not translate the stories. Perhaps in the future once the app gains a considerable fanbase will the developers translate to English, but until that day comes, consider using the app as is! Now onto the review!   Game Plot  The app begins with a prologue describing your first day in the company where the characters work in. By choosing your first ch...
